This blade has been forged right here in Newcastle with a 52100 High Carbon steel core and clad with a soft stainless jacket to produce an elegant shaped blade with a rustic look.
52100 steel is a favorite among custom makers, utilised where it’s fine grain structure and wear resistance will be appreciated. To further enhance the beauty of this blade I have forge welded a stainless jacket onto the blade steel to produce a dramatic effect as the core steel patinas over time.
The blade has been mounted with a threaded tang extension, secured with a brass nut into a beautifully stabilised birds eye maple. The bolster and end cap are brushed black Juma.

Comes razor sharp
Care must be taken to clean and dry knife after use and not leave submerged in dish water or put in dish washer.
Accurately heat treated in a kiln, quenched & tempered.
Must be cleaned and dried before storage, not safe for dishwasher
