Bat Country Forge Blacksmith's Polish

Blacksmiths use this traditional recipe for weather proofing steel forgings while still warm at a black heat. The oils penetrate the dark rough exterior and seal it against oxidization providing a glossier surface finish. The compound can also be used on wooden furniture to cover chips and cracks. It is also wonderful for protecting timber and bone handles on knives. This is what I use in my workshop when I want to preserve the natural colour of a knife handle and seal the surface.
