52100 Ball Bearing San Mai

Forging of a 52100 core San Mai 52100 has a common application in industry as a bearing steel. It requires a higher forging heat than simpler carbon steels like 1084. When heat treated correctly it holds an amazing edge but has a tenancy to corrode, thus benefiting aesthetically and functionally from being jacketed with another tool steel.
